Quality Assurance Unit

The QAAP Project (Internal Quality Assurance and Accreditation System) was obtained on 12/9/2004 with a budget of 150.000. The National Committee for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (NQAA) contributed with the Project Management Unit in the financing of the project for 18 months starting from September 2004 and continued until March 2006. At the end of the project, an independent quality assurance unit was established in the faculty with the approval of the faculty council in its session no. (42) dated 15/6/2005 on the establishment of the unit.

Definition of the Unit

The quality assurance unit in the faculty is considered as a link between the internal quality system in the departments of the faculty and the quality assurance center at the university as well as the National Committee for Quality Assurance and Quality Assurance.
Unit Reference.

The accreditation standards issued by the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation in Egypt represent the first reference for the unit's work axes. The Board of Directors of the Unit shall take the necessary measures to ensure the operation of the Unit and to conduct all quality assurance activities through this reference.

The Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University seeks to be one of the best nursing faculties locally, regionally and internationally and contribute effectively to the advancement of the health system in Egypt.

Mission

Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University is an educational and research governmental institution that provides educational programs in nursing sciences to provide qualified graduates scientifically and practically and produce scientific research and support the needs of the community health.

Objectives of the Unit

1. Preparing the faculty to meet the requirements and standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

2. Establishing a quality system in the faculty to raise the level of the educational system provided by the faculty members, as well as reaching the graduates of the faculty to a distinguished level that meets the national standards.

3. Propose the general policy of performance evaluation and quality assurance in the various departments of the faculty.

4. Spreading the culture of quality in the faculty and beyond.

5. Raising the level of community confidence in the results and outputs of the faculty.

6. Supporting continuous improvement processes by guiding the managers of various development activities in their respective fields to keep up with the quality levels.

7. Confirming confidence at the local, regional and international levels in the outcomes of the educational process and the efficiency and quality assurance and continuous development of education.

8. Promote capacity-building in quality assurance.

9. Facilitate the development and application of national reference standards for academic programs at the faculty.

10. Regional and international cooperation with similar bodies.

11. Evaluate the educational process by measuring performance indicators.

12. Spreading the culture of evaluation among faculty members and students.

13. Transfer of modern scientific expertise used in the field of nursing to graduates through seminars, conferences, training courses and workshops.

14. Graduating nurses capable of competing and innovating in the field of the profession locally and internationally in order to cope with the needs of society and the labor market.

15. Improve the quality of academic and applied scientific research to find practical solutions to societal problems.

Criteria for the selection of staff in the unit

1. Previous experience in the field of education development.

2. Attend training courses on quality assurance in the project of developing education at the university.

3. Attend quality seminars and workshops inside and outside the university.

4. Experienced in community participation and environmental service.

5. Pass TOT courses.

6. Representation of different departments.

7. Representation of faculty assistants.

8. Representation of graduates (active).

9. Student representation (first class).
