Workshop on “Using RUBRIC in Student Assessment and Educational Process”
The launch of the initiative "Empowering students in the health care sector to adapt to climate changes" within the activities of the first international conference at Mansoura University. In light of Mansoura University's adoption of sustainable development strategies and the vision of the Egyptian state, and its interest in preparing scientific plans, programs and conferences to ensure the achievement of a comprehensive and sustainable role for the university in community service and environmental development, the Faculty of Nursing at Mansoura University hosted the activities of the first international and fourth national conference for students entitled: "Empowering students in the care sector Health Ministry to Adapt to Climate Change - Challenges and Possibilities”. The conference held in Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in the Conference Hall of the General Administration of the University, with the participation of 15 different Egyptian and Arab universities. This conference came under the partonage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the leadership of Prof. Sherif Youssef Khater- President of Mansoura University, Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi- Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. / Amina El-Nemer- Dean of the Faculty, supervised by Prof. Abeer Zakaria - Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Wadad Saber- Coordinator of Student Activities, in the presence of Prof. Mosaad Mandour- Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Postgraduate Studies, and Prof. Dr. Nahed Kandil - Vice Dean of the College of Nursing for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Wafaa Fathy- Vice Dean of the Faculty for Environmental Affairs, and a number of faculty members and students from various Egyptian Arab universities. The conference aims to exchange visions and practical ideas on ways to empower students in the health care sector in light of the contemporary climatic and environmental changes. Several sub-goals emerge from this goal represented in qualifying students with the tools and skills to adapt to climate changes, and preparing scientifically qualified cadres in the health team to deal with climate crises. Spreading health and environmental awareness among university students, as well as standing on the local and international community's readiness to adapt to climate changes, and assessing international challenges and risks towards these changes from the students' point of view. The conference dealt with a number of themes, including the importance of digital transformation and hybrid learning in light of climate changes, nutrition and lifestyles to adapt to climate changes, tools and strategies for adapting to climate changes, managing climate crises, environmental risks resulting from climate changes, pressures and social support related to climate changes.

Faculty of Nursing, in co-operation with the University’s Science Club, organized an initiative to connect science, technology and innovation on 10/11/2021 at the conference hall of the faculty. It was presented by Dr. Sarah Al-Metwally- supervisor of the University’s Science Club and the club team.
With the start of the second dose of Covid 19 Vaccine on Saturday, September 25, 2021, there are increasing in the number of students attendance to have the vaccine at the Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University. Corona virus vaccine is provided by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education in the interest of the safety of our students.
Students are attending according to the date announced on the first card taken at the first dose, which started on Saturday, September 5, 2021.

The vaccination campaign is carried out with the participation of the students' union members of the faculty.
With the start of today Saturday, September 25, 2021, the medical examination activities for new students for the academic year 2021-2022 began.

On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, the annual conference for graduate studies was held under the partonage of Prof. Abeer Zakaria - Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Vice President of the Conference, and supervised by Prof. Hanas Hussein- Conference Coordinator, and Dr. Nagwa Ibrahim – General secretary of the Conference. The organization done by Narsawy’s team at the faculty and was coordinated by Ahmed Waheed- the head of the team. The agenda was presented by Dr. Iman Yasser - Assistant Lecturer Critical Care Nursing Department.
The activities of the first virtual conference were held due to what the world is going through from the Corona pandemic, and precautionary measures were taken and the distance was maintained for the participants with a scientific talk or poster who presented in the Faculty conference hall. Under the supervision of the Faculty of Information Technology manager Assist. Prof. Eman Ahmad Fadel.
It is worth mentioning that, more than 400 participants participated in the conference, whether they attended online or participated in a poster or a scientific talk or a research paper from various Egyptian and Arab universities.
One of the most important scientific topics presented in the conference was how to create an electronic file for each student, on which the student carries everything related to him, starting from joining the faculty until he graduates. This topic was attended by Prof. Hala Jabr - Head of the Department of Nursing Administration. In addition, Prof. Hanaa Hussein spoke about the most common mistakes during the presentation of scientific theses and how to avoid them. Furthermore, the fruitful presentation of Prof. Nahid Kandil, Head of Critical Care Nursing Department and Chairman of the Ethics and Scientific Research Committee, on how to make a scientific protocol.
Dr. Najwa El-Fishawy- coordinator of the Postgraduate Studies page, talked about scientific research and how to research through the web of science base, which is provided by the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and how the base enables the researcher to know the impact factor of the scientific journal before publishing in it and how to arrange and write references in Mandali.
Dr. Eman Ahmed Fadel gave a lecture on global databases and how to participate in them from the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, Research Gate and Google Scholar, and how to download research and scientific theses from different database sources.
Moreover, Dr. Sarah Ali, a lecturer for the health of the elderly from the Faculty of Nursing, Alexandria University, participated in e-learning strategies. Dr. Ibtisam Hashem, a doctoral student at Mansoura University, participated in a lecture on cupping and the modern perspective of Western medicine and how to use it to treat various health symptoms.
Among the online posts is a participation from Saudi Arabia from Dr. Samah Abdullah Mahmoud Suleiman - an international consultant for breastfeeding medicine, head of nursing and pediatric departments and director of the child-friendly hospital program at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. Thus, all the topics of the conference were covered, from integrating modern technologies into interactive education to improve the quality of teaching and learning, building curricula on evidence-based evidence in nursing practices, as well as covering the challenges facing postgraduate students in education and scientific research.
Among the most important recommendations of the conference: activating the electronic file of the graduate student, weighing the skills of graduate students with the skills of research projects, encouraging faculty members to publish in journals with a high impact factor to raise the researcher’s impact factor and raising the classification of Egyptian universities. And also supporting the development of students’ skills in education. In addition, encouraging researchers to do research using evidence and evidence to prove the role of cupping in treating many disease symptoms.
The activities of the sixth international conference of the Faculty of Nursing and the third of the Community Health Nursing Department - Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University concluded under the title: "Evidence-Based Practices: Where are we"?

The conference was chaired by Prof. Amina El-Nemr - Dean of the Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University and under the auspices of the League of Arab States and Prof. Ashraf Abdel Baset, President of Mansoura University and Prof. Ashraf Hafez, Vice President of Mansoura University for Graduate Studies and Research, in cooperation with the Higher Institute of Public Health - Alexandria University, the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Supervision and the Association of Graduate Faculties of Nursing.
The conference sessions were unique in that they were held in the form of seminars between a group of scientists who united to discuss the possibility of developing a strategy for applying evidence-based health practices methodology, with the aim of enhancing the quality of health care and hence improving human and community health.

The conference included a specialized research exhibition in the development of clinical evidence, which is considered one of the most important ways to enhance the quality of health care, which was presented by members of the faculty of the Department of Community Health Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University.
The conference included six scientific sessions, starting with the inaugural session that honored the speech of His Excellency Dr. Saeed Al-Hadi, Minister Plenipotentiary and Director of the Department of Health and Humanitarian Aid - at the League of Arab States, who delivered a speech on behalf of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, and his Excellency referred to the Arab Health Ministers Council Resolution No. 8 In March 2009, it is recommended that member states take the necessary measures to incorporate evidence-based health practices into educational and health programs.
Dr. Ashraf Ismail - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Supervision, and his Excellency indicated the efforts of the state in supporting the comprehensive health insurance system and the role of the authority in issuing standards for accrediting health institutions and registering and accrediting health facilities, as well as registering workers in these facilities. He also stressed the importance of establishments' adherence to standards to enhance the quality of sustainable health care in Egypt and evidence-based in order to achieve the principles of justice in health care, and that the authority has included evidence-based health practices in the standards for accrediting health facilities. He also indicated that the authority has a role in monitoring that health facilities are able to adhere to achieving standards in a sustainable manner, through an audit system in all aspects of facility management and clinical procedures based on health evidence-based practices. The obligation of health facilities and their employees to implement standards and guidelines is to work on influencing the convictions of health workers and maximize their research and clinical skills, as the application of this system has become inevitable and not optional.
And His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Al-Tawdi, head of the Military Medical Academy, stressed the importance of establishing a higher health council in Egypt that includes all health and educational institutions entrusted with providing health services and education to health care providers so that we can join efforts and expertise to achieve the highest quality standards in health care.
The scientific sessions of the conference continued, which were agreed in its recommendations that the topics discussed play an important role in achieving Egypt's strategy 2030, and one of its most important goals is to achieve justice in providing comprehensive health care to all groups and individuals of society with high quality alike. The conference recommended inevitably Evidence-based practice methodology applied.

The need for national clinical guidelines based on evidence
Apply evidence-based health practices methodology
The need to develop a health data system and disease registration in Egypt, as well as create electronic applications to facilitate informed decision-making, whether clinical or health-related decisions and strategies for health programs based on scientific evidence and accurate data.
In addition to the necessity of having binding policies and legislations for members of the health team by applying national clinical guidelines based on the evidence, which in turn preserves the rights and safety of patients and on the other hand the rights of members of the health team.
Professor Dr. Sahar Mohamed Suleiman, Professor at the Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University added that one of the most important requirements for evidence-based health practices methodology is to qualify students during the first university stage by studying the foundations of this methodology with appropriate teaching methods for it, and that it is necessary to apply existing education standards skills as an essential element in teaching evidence-based health practices methodology.
On the other hand, Prof. Mokhtar Yusef, Professor at the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research - Alexandria University and former Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, stressed the importance of studying this methodology at the postgraduate level to graduate specialists in this field, and recommended the use of the European system For points accredited to open the way for the completion of studies and student exchanges with European countries that are in need of manpower.
His Excellency Major General Doctor / Issam Aqil called for developing a strategy for cooperation between academic strongholds and health institutions in the field of applying evidence-based health practices methodology, to include training plans in this field.
On the other side, Prof. Nabil Dowidar that there are many challenges that may face the application of this methodology, including the absence of the role of scientific entities in various disciplines, the most important of which is the development of guidelines for clinical practices for each discipline, as well as in developed countries. He also pointed to the need to study the gap in Egyptian society with regard to all aspects of the requirements for applying this desired methodology.
The conference sessions concluded that a higher body should be created to work on the application of evidence-based health practices methodology in the Egyptian health community, with the concerted relevant bodies of higher education and health.

Furthermore, It is worth to mention an intensive attendance of postgraduates students in different sectors and also attendance of members of the academic staff of the various scientific departments of the Faculty.
