launch of the initiative Empowering students in the health care sector to adapt to climate changes
The launch of the initiative "Empowering students in the health care sector to adapt to climate changes" within the activities of the first international conference at Mansoura University. In light of Mansoura University's adoption of sustainable development strategies and the vision of the Egyptian state, and its interest in preparing scientific plans, programs and conferences to ensure the achievement of a comprehensive and sustainable role for the university in community service and environmental development, the Faculty of Nursing at Mansoura University hosted the activities of the first international and fourth national conference for students entitled: "Empowering students in the care sector Health Ministry to Adapt to Climate Change - Challenges and Possibilities”. The conference held in Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in the Conference Hall of the General Administration of the University, with the participation of 15 different Egyptian and Arab universities. This conference came under the partonage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the leadership of Prof. Sherif Youssef Khater- President of Mansoura University, Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi- Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. / Amina El-Nemer- Dean of the Faculty, supervised by Prof. Abeer Zakaria - Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Wadad Saber- Coordinator of Student Activities, in the presence of Prof. Mosaad Mandour- Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Postgraduate Studies, and Prof. Dr. Nahed Kandil - Vice Dean of the College of Nursing for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Wafaa Fathy- Vice Dean of the Faculty for Environmental Affairs, and a number of faculty members and students from various Egyptian Arab universities. The conference aims to exchange visions and practical ideas on ways to empower students in the health care sector in light of the contemporary climatic and environmental changes. Several sub-goals emerge from this goal represented in qualifying students with the tools and skills to adapt to climate changes, and preparing scientifically qualified cadres in the health team to deal with climate crises. Spreading health and environmental awareness among university students, as well as standing on the local and international community's readiness to adapt to climate changes, and assessing international challenges and risks towards these changes from the students' point of view. The conference dealt with a number of themes, including the importance of digital transformation and hybrid learning in light of climate changes, nutrition and lifestyles to adapt to climate changes, tools and strategies for adapting to climate changes, managing climate crises, environmental risks resulting from climate changes, pressures and social support related to climate changes.
