General nursing administration objectives

The third year students will acquire knowledge, skills and attitude of nursing administration. And, they will be able to apply principles and concepts of nursing administration to different nursing situations, identify the actual role of the head nurse in the nursing units, compare actual with ideals situations and roles in books, and give reasons.

Special Objectives

At the end of nursing administration course, third year students will be able to:

1. Explain management process
2. Describe types of formal organizational structure
3. Lists principles of writing up effective job descriptions
4. Recognize principles of assembling both human and Material resources
5. Discuss role of the head nurse regarding material resources
6. Explain characteristics of effective controls
