In accordance with the directions of the President of the Republic, the Supreme Council of Universities held an emergency meeting, on Thursday, 31/12/2020, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities and Gentlemen presidents of universities, via video technology Conferencing.

The Council appreciated the directions issued by the President of the Republic and the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers, which came in order to ensure the safety of students, faculty, the auxiliary body and all university staff, which state:

• Completion of on line study, through e-learning platforms at all public and private universities and higher state and private institutes from Saturday, January 2 to Saturday, January 16, 2021.
• The mid-year holiday starts from Saturday, January 16, 2021 to Saturday, February 20, 2021.
• Postponing all oral, practical and editorial examinations at all levels of university and postgraduate education at all public and private universities and state and private higher institutes, until after the end of the mid -year holiday.
• Forming a committee to follow up on the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council of Universities and respond to any questions related to the implementation of the resolutions, and overcome all obstacles that may face the implementation of the resolutions.
• Stop and suspend all activities, conferences and festivals within public and private universities and government and private institutes.
