Medical convoy bridges at Mansoura University under the title " bridges of good"
Mansoura University integrated medical convoy “Jusoor Al-Khair (7)” which mean " bridge of good" and concluded its activities this evening, Monday, February 10, 2021 in the Kharga Oasis, which started last Saturday, heading to the New Valley Governorate to provide its integrated services in the field of human medicine, veterinary medicine, and the agricultural field, in the belief of Mansoura University of the importance of Its societal role in disseminating and providing health care and benefiting the community with its academic expertise.
Prof. Dr. Hamdi Al-Qalyubi - Administrative Director of the Jusoor Al-Khair Convoy (7) stated that the medical convoy concluded its work this evening by signing medical examinations on 1,025 cases in various medical specialties during the days of February 9-10, in addition, to perform some surgeries and transferring 12 case for conducting the necessary medical examinations and surgeries in Mansoura University Hospitals, and dispensing treatment for all cases free of charge from the pharmacy accompanying the convoy.
Furthermore, there was a more than one educational topics provided by Dr. Nashwa Mahmoud and Dr. Ghada Gamal- Faculty of Nursing lecturers. The health education was about increase the patients' awareness in the Gynecology Department and the Pediatric Department at Kharga General Hospital about The importance of breastfeeding and the correct way of weaning, as well as teaching them how to do a breast self-examination for early detection of breast cancer, and giving a workshop on the dangers of using antibiotics, in addition to how to prevent the emerging corona virus.
For his part, Prof. Abdel Moneim Montaser- Technical Director of Veterinary Affairs, indicated that the veterinary convoy visited both the village of Aden in the center of Paris, and the village of Algeria in the local unit in Sana’a in the Kharga center.
Moreover, many veterinary examination and reproductive examination were signed on 601 heads of cows and buffaloes, 50 heads of sheep and 5 horses, and 200 poultry and birds, with the dispensing of veterinary medicines for all affected cases free of charge.
Advice and guidance were also provided to farmers in Bulaq village, Jeddah, Gormchin 7, Baghdad, Aden, Paris Oasis farms, and Dosh village. The problems facing farmers and those interested in planting field crops and fruit trees and ways to solve them. A number of extension fields for the wheat crop and a number of palm farms were visited and technical recommendations were given to increase the crop as well as how to combat palm weevils.
It is worth to mention that the Josour Al Khair Convoy (7) began its activities on Tuesday morning, February 11, in the Dakhla Oasis to complete the march of goodness and provide aid to the people of the oasis and the surrounding areas in the medical, veterinary and agricultural fields.
