*Mansoura University Organizes an Awareness Campaign on World Asthma Day with the Participation of International Students*

Under the patronage of Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, the International Students Administration at Mansoura University organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of World Asthma Day, with the participation of a number of international students from different nationalities enrolled in the Faculties of Medicine and Nursing.

The campaign was supervised by Dr. Al-Mu'tasim بالله Mostafa El-Bahrawy, General Supervisor of the International Students Administration; Dr. Shaimaa Abdel Wahab, Deputy General Supervisor for Postgraduate International Students Affairs; and Dr. Ahmed Salah Ali, Deputy General Supervisor for Education and Student Affairs and Supervisor of the Health and Social Care Administration.

The event was held at the Nile Club in the presence of Dr. Abdel Rahman Mogahed, the Club’s Executive Director. The program began with a simplified presentation on asthma symptoms, causes, and prevention methods, followed by a practical session on how to use inhalers and deal with sudden asthma attacks.

Awareness materials were distributed, and preliminary health checks were conducted for attendees. The practical training witnessed significant interaction from students, especially during the inhaler demonstrations and discussions related to first aid and sudden respiratory emergencies.

The practical session continued with many students eager to try the devices themselves and inquire about rapid response methods for emergency cases.

Dr. Al-Mu'tasim بالله Mostafa El-Bahrawy praised the students’ active participation throughout the event, particularly during the practical training, noting that the International Students Administration seeks to increase health-related activities that focus on direct participation and hands-on training rather than relying solely on theoretical aspects.

He added that the administration is currently preparing several similar events addressing various health topics of interest to international students within the university.

For his part, Dr. Abdel Rahman Mogahed stated that the Nile Club welcomes hosting student activities and awareness events, especially in light of the strong turnout from international students. He emphasized that activities combining theoretical explanation with practical application receive greater interest and achieve remarkable engagement among students.

Dr. Ahmed Salah Ali also stressed that knowing how to respond quickly during respiratory emergencies has become an essential skill for students, explaining that the event focused on practical training and direct interaction with emergency situations in a simplified manner.

Ms. Engy Anwar, Public Relations Officer, supervised the organizational aspects of the event and coordinated with the participating students.

The event concluded with commemorative photos featuring the participating students after the practical training session, along with discussions on managing respiratory crises and asthma attacks.
