The opening began with the inauguration of the Student Activities Exhibition organized by the university, showcasing students’ creativity in academic, cultural, and artistic fields. The exhibition reflected the university’s commitment to fostering a well-rounded student experience.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater welcomed attendees, emphasizing that launching the initiative from Mansoura University reflects its leading role and commitment to implementing quality standards across disciplines. He stressed that the university aims not only for academic leadership but also for becoming a national model in integrating quality standards into the culture of academic work. He expressed appreciation to the President of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation and his accompanying delegation, highlighting the strong partnership between the university and the authority in advancing quality and accreditation. He further confirmed that the university practices quality not merely as a theoretical framework but through daily academic and administrative practices, positively impacting education and community service.

He noted that the participation of around 1,000 students sends a strong message that students are true partners in development and nation-building. He also presented a comprehensive overview of the university’s key achievements and areas of excellence over the past three years, underscoring its steady progress toward international distinction.

Dr. Alaa Ashmawy praised the excellent organization of the initiative, affirming that Mansoura University is a strategic partner of the Authority in promoting the culture of quality. He noted that the university was the first in Egypt to obtain institutional accreditation, a clear sign of its leadership and excellence. He added that the “New Beginning” initiative seeks to build a generation of students who are aware, capable of addressing labor market demands both locally and internationally, and prepared for future challenges. He emphasized that true educational quality lies not in numbers but in the skills and knowledge acquired by students—academic, practical, and research-oriented—highlighting the central role of students in quality assurance standards.

In her remarks, Dr. Asmaa Mostafa expressed her delight at being in her “second home, Mansoura University,” describing the launch of the initiative there as a turning point in student engagement in quality systems. She explained that “A New Beginning” is not just a slogan but a renewed covenant between the Authority, educational institutions, and society—bridging the present with the future and embedding quality as a continuous value. She pointed out that Mansoura University, historically a pioneer in advancing education and research, was the first public university to obtain accreditation from the Authority and continues to support innovative projects, integrating modern technologies into education.

Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser highlighted that the initiative represents more than just an event; it is a practical step toward establishing quality-based education and showcasing excellence standards. He emphasized that human investment begins with the mind and aspirations, and the initiative—launched under the auspices of the Prime Minister and in collaboration with the Authority, the African Quality Organization, and the Arab League—reflects the urgent need for a new beginning rooted in student awareness and participation, while enhancing institutional efficiency and empowering youth as agents of societal development.

Dr. Nesreen Shalaby confirmed that the Quality Assurance Center works to integrate efforts between the university and the Authority to embed quality standards across academic programs. She stressed that the initiative offers a chance to spotlight the university’s achievements in both institutional and program accreditation. She also presented a summary of the university’s quality assurance efforts under Egypt Vision 2030, which positioned Mansoura University as the first Egyptian university to gain institutional accreditation. She further highlighted the university’s continuous drive toward becoming a fourth-generation university, strengthening its academic and research standing.

At the close of the inauguration, the launch of a two-day training program was officially announced
