6th Student Conference of “Fekra” Family at the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura University
On Monday, September 22, 2025, the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura University successfully held the 6th Annual Student Conference of the “Fekra” Family under the title:
“Empowering Students to Build the Future: Education, Student Activities, and Job Market Readiness,” at Lecture Hall (A) in the Faculty of Nursing.
The conference was organized under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Atiyah El‑Bayoumi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. It was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abeer Mohamed Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Conference Chair, alongside Prof. Dr. Awatif Hassan Qasim, Acting Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The event was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Widad Saber Shafik Abdel‑Khalek, Student Activities Coordinator and “Fekra” Family Leader, and supported by the Student Welfare team.
The conference was honored by the attendance of distinguished university leaders including:

The opening session featured a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Abeer Mohamed Zakaria, who welcomed attendees and praised the active participation of students, emphasizing the faculty’s commitment to empowering students with academic knowledge and practical skills needed to compete in local and global job markets.
Prof. Dr. Awatif Hassan Qasim expressed pride in the high level of organization and student engagement, highlighting the key role of student activities in building well‑rounded graduates.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Widad Saber underscored that the conference serves as a platform for students to share their ideas and experiences, reflecting fruitful collaboration between students and faculty. She also emphasized that the “Fekra” Family event has become a leading student platform held for six consecutive years.
The conference program included a variety of scientific, cultural, and artistic activities beginning with a documentary showcasing highlights of previous “Fekra” conferences. This was followed by opening remarks by student leaders:

The event also featured academic and career talks including:

• Mr. Ahmed Abdel‑Wahid, Head of Student Affairs – on academic regulations and guidelines
Short professional development workshops were conducted by outstanding alumni:
• Eng. Ahmed Reda – “Draw Your Path in Your Academic Journey”
• Eng. Alaa Ahmed – “From Student to Professional Nurse – A Journey Beyond Internship”
• Eng. Mohamed Ashraf – “English Has Two Concepts”
• Eng. Aya El‑Hawary – “The Beginning of Your Path Is the Beginning of Your Future”
A panel discussion titled “The Role of Student Activities in the Educational Process” brought together faculty and student participants, followed by artistic performances including singing and religious chanting. The agenda also included live video contributions from alumni abroad in Germany and the UAE who shared their journeys and experiences.
The conference concluded in an atmosphere of pride and optimism, affirming that the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura University continues to play a leading role in empowering its students with the knowledge, life skills, and professional competencies needed to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
