Mansoura University welcomes teams from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education to accredit the Faculty of Nursing
Prof. Sherif Khater: Mansoura University Continues his Efforts to Accredit Faculties and Establish a Culture of Institutional Quality.
Prof. Sherif Khater, President of the University, received in his office the field visit team from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, as part of the scheduled visits for institutional accreditation of the Faculty of Nursing.
The accreditation team included: Prof. Gamal El-Maghraby, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University, and head of the team; Prof. Sanaa Abdel-Azim Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Port Said University; Dr. Sahar Moussa Suleiman, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Ain Shams University; Prof. Nadia Mohamed Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Assiut University; and Dr. Naglaa Abdel-Mawgoud Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Al-Riyada University.
The meeting was attended by: Prof. Abeer Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Prof. Nasreen Mohamed Shalaby, Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Center; Prof. Fatima Al-Zahraa Al-Gohary, Deputy Director of the Center; Prof. Heba Abdel Salam, the Center's Coordinator for Training Centers; Prof. Josephine Atef Abdel Magid, Director of the Faculty's Quality Assurance Unit; and Prof. Ghada Gamal, Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Unit.
At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Sherif Khater welcomed the delegation from the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission to Mansoura University, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering a culture of quality and institutional excellence, and to implementing accredited academic standards across its various educational and research sectors. This commitment, he explained, enhances the university's competitiveness and aligns with Egypt's Vision 2030.
The university president then reviewed the efforts undertaken to meet accreditation requirements according to the Commission's standards. He highlighted the implementation of a continuous improvement methodology and institutional performance evaluation systems, which enhances the quality of the educational process and its alignment with labor market needs, particularly in the healthcare sector. He affirmed the university's pride in its collaboration with the Commission and its readiness to renew its institutional accreditation next year, having been the first university in Egypt to achieve this accreditation in 2022. This renewal, he noted, supports the readiness of the university's faculties for both institutional and program accreditation.
He emphasized that the Faculty of Nursing is a cornerstone of the medical system at Mansoura University, playing a pivotal role in preparing scientifically and practically qualified nursing staff capable of providing comprehensive healthcare services according to the latest professional standards, thus supporting the quality of healthcare.
He added that the university places great importance on developing its educational and research infrastructure, pointing to the new Faculty of Nursing building project, which includes lecture halls and multiple classrooms. This new building aims to accommodate the increasing number of students and support the educational and training process in accordance with the latest academic standards.
He also affirmed the university's ongoing support for scientific research by providing a stimulating research environment, supporting international publication in prestigious scientific journals, and encouraging applied and innovative research related to community needs, particularly in the health sector. This will enhance the university's standing in international rankings, in addition to expanding digital transformation and implementing smart learning systems, which contributes to developing and improving the efficiency of the university's education system.
For his part, Prof. Jamal Al-Maghrabi expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and organization, stressing that field visits represent a key mechanism for supporting institutional development and promoting a culture of quality, through reviewing documents, holding meetings, and inspecting educational capabilities.
Prof. Abeer Zakaria affirmed that the College of Nursing has implemented a comprehensive development plan, which includes updating academic programs, enhancing practical training, preparing a comprehensive guide for current and international students, developing the research plan in accordance with community priorities, supporting scientific publication, and raising the efficiency of faculty members, all of which contribute to improving the quality of educational and research outcomes.
For her part, Prof. Nasreen Mohammed Shalabi explained that the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Center operates according to an integrated institutional methodology that includes technical support and internal reviews, along with periodic monitoring of documents to ensure their compliance with the accreditation body's standards. This methodology also involves developing improvement plans based on precise performance indicators, thus supporting the colleges' readiness for accreditation and ensuring the sustainability of quality within the university.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the review teams began implementing the field visit program, which includes reviewing documents and files, holding meetings with faculty members, students, and administrative staff, and inspecting laboratories and classrooms. To determine the extent to which the required standards for institutional accreditation are met, in order to support the college’s readiness to obtain accreditation, and to enhance the achievement of the university’s objectives within the framework of its continuous endeavor to enhance the readiness of its colleges for institutional and program accreditation in accordance with national standards.
