The Center for Measurement and Evaluation holds a "Test Item Preparation" course for faculty members at the Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President of Mansoura University for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maha El-Ashmawy, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Mansoura University.
At the request of Prof. Dr. Abeer Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and in coordination with Asst. Prof. Dr. Rasha Abbas, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty, to hold measurement and evaluation courses for faculty members, the "Preparing Test Items" course was held today, Sunday, June 15, 2025, using the Microsoft Teams application. Prof. Dr. Iman Zahran Abdel Hamid, Deputy Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the University, lectured in the course.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo El-Ashmawy, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the University, welcomed the participating faculty members from the Faculty of Nursing. The course aimed to develop skills in formulating high-quality questions according to approved scientific standards. It covered the basic concepts of validity, reliability, and fairness in assessment, classifying question types and the characteristics of each type, writing effective question stems and alternatives, applying Bloom's cognitive pyramid in vocabulary building, in addition to practical exercises on analyzing and improving questions. The course witnessed a distinguished interaction from the participants who enriched the discussion with their experiences and questions, which had a significant impact on the success of the course and the achievement of its objectives. Their Excellencies requested more courses in the near future, God willing.
