This means that the student in practical faculties became obliged to provide the English language certificate to complete the procedures of the formation of the jury and discussion, rather than submitted at registration to become the same condition in the theoretical faculties.

This means that if the student has registered a master's degree at the University of Mansoura and offers a language certificate and discuss the thesis and grant the degree and then apply for registration to the doctorate degree, the student can discuss the doctorate and grants by providing the language certificate obtained in the master. However, if he obtained a master's degree from outside Mansoura University and applied for a Ph.D in Mansoura University, the student is obliged to provide a language certificate at the time of the formation of the Ph.D. In the past, the student offered a language certificate in the master's and another language certificate in the doctorate.

 

3.The degree required to pass the TOEFL exam for the scientific departments studying in English has been standardized to become 433 degrees for master and doctorate and IELTS 5 for master and doctorate degrees.

This means that the score required to pass the TOEFL exam for scientific departments studying in English in the master and doctorate 433 degrees, which was reduced for the doctorate from the required score of 460 degrees and the degree of IELTS required for the doctorate to 5 degrees instead of 5.5

 

4.The degree required to pass the TOEFL exam for scientific departments studying in Arabic has been standardized to 390 degrees for master's and doctorate and IELTS 4 degrees for master and doctorate.

This means that the degree required to pass the TOEFL exam for scientific departments studying in Arabic in the master and doctorate 390 degrees, which was reduced for the doctorate after the required score of 433 degrees, as well as reducing the IELTS score required for the doctorate to 4 degrees instead of 5 degrees.

 

5.The possibility of the student to get the English language course for specific purposes from English Language Center, Faculty of Education, Mansoura University as an alternative to the certificate of IMEDEST.

 

This means that the student can submit a certificate of IMEDEST or IELTS under the preconditions to complete the discussion procedures or provide a certificate of English for specific purposes from the English Language Center at the University. The student has to pass 70% of the test so that all graduate students at the university, whether new or old registrations, provide these two types of language certificates only.

 

6.For the French language, the certificate required for the master and doctorate is DELF A2 for the master's and doctoral degrees

 

This means that the student can submit the DELF A2 certificate for the French language only once in the master and doctorate and the degree required for the doctorate was reduced from B1

7.The student should obtain the ICDL certificate or its equivalent.

 

This means that certificates of training programs which approved by the Supreme Council of Universities as training courses are equivalent to ICDL certificates (according to the letter of the Supreme Council of Universities) as follows:

 

- The training course provided by the Central Unit for training in information technology in the Supreme Council of Universities and is trained within the training centers in universities

- ICDL Arabia Company

- MKCL Indian Company

- IC3 plus program

- Cambridge IT Skills

 

8.ICDL has become a prerequisite for awarding the degree.

 

This means that the ICDL certificate or its equivalent has become a prerequisite for awarding a degree and not a registration or formation requirement.

 

9.Exemption of some categories from obtaining ICDL certificate.

 

This means that there are some categories of graduate students at the university are not obliged to provide ICDL certificate because they are specialized students, those students are from Faculty of Computing and Information - students of the Department of Computer Engineering and Systems at Faculty of Engineering - students of the Department of Mathematics Computer Specialization at Faculty of Science – students of prepare a computer teacher at Faculty of Specific Education.

 

10.Submission of the cover of the thesis only approved and signed by the main supervisor that the thesis was prepared as a condition for the formation of committees for judgment and discussion.

 

This means that the student was obliged to provide a full copy of the thesis to form a committee for discussion and judgment, but after this amendment the student became only obliged to provide the cover of the thesis approved and signed by the main supervisor that the thesis was prepared as set out in the regulations of the preparation and submission of scientific theses at the university.

 

11.International publishing, both at the Masters and PhD, has become the publication of only one research rather than at least one.

 

There are some scientific departments in the faculties of engineering, computers and information were required to post graduate student publishing international research and sometimes more than one that depends on the text of the list mentioned (publication of at least one research) was deleted (at least) of the text of the list and therefore the student is required to publish only one an international research and no more.

 

12.Canceling sending copies of the thesis to the Alexandria Library as a condition of grant.

 

Where the student was sending copies of the scientific thesis to the Alexandria Library as a condition for granting the degree, but today the central library in the university put the copy of the thesis on the program of the Union of Libraries and therefore no longer need to send to the Alexandria library. So, this requirement was canceled.

 

13.Canceling presenting of a sound and video CD for discussion as a grant condition.

This means that the student is no longer obliged to film the discussion video and provide a CD of sound and image of the discussion as a condition for granting the degree

 

14.Canceling presenting the student the summary of the thesis in Arabic to the faculty to be presented to members of the University Council when considering the subject of granting the degree.

 

This means that the student was obliged to provide a summary of the thesis in Arabic to the faculty to be presented to the members of the University Council when considering the subject of granting the degree, but this requirement was canceled.

 

15.Add a maximum of (3) non-supervising committee of published research instead of only one.

 

This means that the student can add a maximum of (3) non-supervisory committee members (instead of only one) to the published research from the thesis. Those who have already participated in the published research but the Department Council should be approved and in the case of adding them to the published research without actually participating in the research this considered as scientific dishonesty.

 

16.Increase the number of thesis supervised by faculty members in practical faculties to 30 theses instead of 20.

 

This means that the faculty member of the faculties can supervise the number of (30) scientific theses at maximum without the theses of lecturers and assistant professors and expatriates because they are outside the number. Previously, he/she was supervising (20) theses.

 

17.Apply the new amendments to all postgraduate students as of the date of their adoption by the University Council.

 

This means that the new rules adopted by the University Council apply to all graduate students from the date of adoption by the University Council. As for the international publishing and obtaining two training courses of the development of faculty members' abilities for students from abroad as well as the patent registration certificate in practical faculties apply to students enrolled in graduate studies as of 1/9/2017.
