As part of the student activities derived from the practical training plan for the Gerontological Nursing course, and under the patronage of:
👩‍⚕️ Prof. Dr. Abir Mohamed Zakaria – Dean of the Faculty of Nursing
👩‍⚕️ Prof. Dr. Awatef Hassan Qassem – Acting Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs
and with the support and supervision of Prof. Dr. Heba Noshy Abdel Aziz – Head of the Gerontological Nursing Department,

the students of Group 4 in the Gerontological Nursing Department – Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University – organized a special social and recreational awareness seminar, reflecting the department’s leading role in community awareness and engagement.

“Recreational Activities and Mental Health for Older Adults”

📍 Location: Al-Amal Club for Older Adults in Al-Eisawy

🩺 The seminar was supervised by:

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sally Mohamed El-Sayed – Bachelor Program Coordinator, Gerontological Nursing Department

Dr. Asmaa Ali Khattab – Practical Training Coordinator, Gerontological Nursing Department

🌟 Presented by:
Dr. Rania Hazem – Assistant Lecturer, Gerontological Nursing, along with the students of Group 4 enrolled in the Gerontological Nursing course.

🌟 The seminar covered important and useful topics, including:

The importance of recreational activities for the mental health of older adults

Types of recreational activities

Barriers that prevent older adults from engaging in recreational activities 💫

Additionally, students measured blood pressure and blood sugar levels for the attending older adults during the seminar.
