Introduction about the program
Studying in the accelerated program in nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University, allows those who have a bachelor’s degree from educational systems other than nursing to join this program, as this program is designed to cover an abundant amount of material in a short period of time, 24 months (six semesters), in addition to compulsory training. The privilege is twelve months per calendar year.

This program is considered one of the innovative methods of nursing education that is gaining momentum internationally, as this program depends on previous educational experiences and the transfer of individuals with bachelor’s degrees in other specializations to nursing, which helps transform the professional path and opens new fields of employment and also contributes to solving the problem of unemployment.

Vision
This program aims to graduate a qualified nurse who helps achieve community development by participating with the health team in providing distinguished nursing care based on different backgrounds to achieve integration and quality in health care and also contribute to solving community problems
Duration of study
The duration of study is 24 months, divided into 6 semesters without breaks, followed by compulsory training (internship) for a period of 12 months.
Objectives of the accelerated program
The intensive program aims to:
• Meeting the community's needs for qualified nurses who contribute to solving the problem of nursing shortages
• Providing new career paths to achieve community development
• Providing solutions to the problem of unemployment by creating a nursing education path based on different sciences

• Helping graduates of other educational systems to obtain a degree in nursing and change their career path
• Strengthening the links between different sciences and nursing sciences, which contributes to the creation of environmental sciences that help meet the needs of society
• Developing the nursing profession by graduating cadres with different scientific backgrounds
The academic degree
The academic degree granted by the program is a bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences to students enrolled in the program (graduates of other colleges) once the student meets the requirements for obtaining the academic degree, provided that the minimum years of study are two years.
Conditions for admission to the program
• Must have a bachelor’s degree with an acceptable cumulative grade point average ( D+ ) equivalent to 60%, preceded by a high school diploma in science
• The student’s first foreign language must be English
• Passing admission tests in accordance with the standards approved by the Nursing Sector Committee
• Passing the prescribed medical examination and examinations provided that he is free of physical and mental disabilities
• Passing the qualifying courses to join the program if they were not studied in the first university cycle
The Study system
• Study on the credit hour system to obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences for those enrolled in the program for graduates of other colleges
• The duration of study is 6 semesters, equivalent to 110 credit hours, in addition to the introductory semester hours, (17 theoretical credit hours)
• Graduation is followed by compulsory training (internship) equivalent to 12 credit hours, equivalent to 36 actual hours per week for 12 months in university hospitals.Hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Population or the Teaching Hospitals Authority.
• The academic level divides the academic year into 3 semesters, two semesters. Each semester lasts 16 weeks and a summer semester lasts 8 weeks.
