scientific international lectures for postgraduate students at Faculty of Nursing Mansoura University

Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University organized scientific international lectures for postgraduate students that was held on Wednesday 13November 2019 under Patronage of prof. Ashraf abd elbaset "president of Mansoura University"and prof. Ashraf Hafez "vice-president for postgraduates and scientific research And under supervision of prof. Amina Elnemer "Faculty Dean"and prof. Abeer zakaria " vice dean for postgraduates and scientific research".

The first lecture was under the title of "Nursing management of Patients Post Open Heart Surgery" that was provided by Miss Shary Mcclerg from GILBERT ARIZONA.

And the other lecture provided by Dr. Suhir Bitar/Prof. Of Pediatric Medicine, USA Board under the title of "Pediatric Assessment/ADHD" .

Furthermore, It is worth to mention an intensive attendance of postgraduates students in different sectors and also attendance of members of the academic staff of the various scientific departments of the Faculty.

The start of the student union elections marathon of the Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University for the academic year 2019-2020

Under the auspices of Prof. Ashraf Abdel Baset - President of the University and the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi - Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, under the supervision of Prof. Amina Al-Nimr - Dean of the Faculty and Prof. WafaJamil-Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

The first student union elections marathon of the Faculty of Nursing for the academic year 2019/2020 started today
Students flocked to the Election Commission headquarters to withdraw their candidacy papers.
 
A committee was formed to manage the electoral process by Prof. AminaRashad Al-Nimr, Dean of the faculty, headed by Dr. Ahmed Hashem El-Sayed and the membership of:

17 Egyptian universities were included in the World Times rankings in the engineering and technology sector for 2020 compared with 14 universities last year

Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report submitted by Prof. Amr Adly, Deputy Minister for University Affairs, on the inclusion of17 Egyptian universities in the Times Higher Education rankings in the engineering and technology sector in 2020, compared with 14 universities last year, an increase of three government universities for the first time to be included in the classification in the engineering and technology sector, Aswan, Beni Suef and Sohag.

The report pointed out that the universities of Aswan and Beni Suef were ranked first in the Egyptian universities in the engineering and technology sector in the world rankings (301-400), followed by Banha, Tanta and Zagazig universities(401-500), followed by Mansoura University (501-600), followed by Ain Shams, Alexandria, and the American University in Cairo, Assiut, Cairo, Menoufia, Minya, Sohag and Suez Canal respectively (601-800), Al-Azhar and Helwan universities (801+).

The report pointed to the high level of performance of four Egyptian universities in the classification in the engineering and technology sector this year compared with the last year, namely the universities of Banha and Zagazig came in the ranking (401- 500), followed by Mansoura University in the ranking (501-600), followed by Menoufia University in the ranking (601- 800).

On the other hand, the report added the inclusion of Mansoura University for the first time this year in the computer science sector in the world ranking of the Times where it got the ranking (251-300), in addition to the high level of performance of the universities of Cairo and Ain Shams in the computer science sector this year compared with the last year, Cairo University got the ranking (-251300) and Ain Shams University (501 -600), Alexandria and Menofia (501-600) in Computer Science by Times rankings.
 

Reception of the Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University for students of Al-Huda and Al-Nour schools

The Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University headed by Prof. Amina Al-Nimr - Dean of the faculty received the daughters of Al-Huda and Al-Nour School preparatory and secondary stages in order to acquire students' new knowledge and skills.

Workshop under the title of "Academic Guidance", Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University

Under the patronage of Prof. Ashraf Abdel Baset - President of Mansoura University and Prof. Mohamed Attia Bayoumi - Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and leadership of Prof. Amina El Nemr - Dean of Faculty of Nursing - Mansoura University And Prof. Wafaa Jamil – Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs.

On Wednesday, 18/9/2019, the Academic Guidance Committee headed by Dr. Bushra Attia, General Coordinator of Academic Guidance, held a workshop on Academic Guidance with the participation of Dr. Amal Eid, Director of Credit Hours Program and Mr. Ahmed Abdel Wahed, Head of Student Affairs Department, within the presence of the faculty members in order to prepare for the new academic year to help students to register their courses on the credit hours system of Mansoura University. Several topics were discussed, including the skills that should be available to the academic advisor in order to contribute to the achievement of the desired objectives, as well as the registration process for students and how to facilitate the registration procedures and guide students to choose courses that help them in academic progress and make study plans for them.
 
In addition, the most important problems that hinder the process of academic guidance and possible solutions were discussed and students were distributed to the faculty counselors at a lower rate of the number of students per counselor in order to improve the process of academic guidance at the faculty based on the suggestions for improvement from previous students and academic advisors point of view.
 
Prof. Wafaa Jamil - Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs, started the workshop activities and stressed the importance of the interest and cooperation of counselors with the Academic Guidance Unit and the importance of working within the spirit of the team to complete the registration process and follow-up the students academically throughout the semester. 
Dr. Bushra Attia, General Coordinator of Academic Guidance, answered the queries of the attendees of the faculty members and explained her readiness to answer any queries from the academic advisors from the faculty members at any time to facilitate matters of academic guidance at the faculty. 
 
The method of registration and access to the site of Ibn al-Haytham was presented by Dr. Amal Eid Credit Hours Program Manager, and Mr Ahmed, Director of Student Affairs, in order to assist new advisors in the program of academic guidance at the faculty.
 
The workshop ended with the presentation for the basic requirements from the beginning of the new academic year for each academic supervisor at the faculty in order to print a case statement for each student and study his/her case and the cumulative average and the beginning of making plans for all students. Also, make sure to register for each student by viewing the registration form from the site of Ibn al-Haytham to confirm the registration of courses and the number of hours per student.
