Critical Care Nursing


Critical Care Nursing Department, Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University was established in 2002 according to the Faculty by law 2002. Critical care staff teaches three syllabi: First Aid for first year students, Emergency Nursing for second year students, and Critical Care Nursing for fourth year students.

The staff members supervise students' training in three different areas: Faculty's advanced Labs, Emergency Department and Critical Care Units in Mansoura University Hospitals.

 Critical Care Nursing Department participates in many activities, such as organizing training programs for nurses in Mansoura University Hospitals, and also first aid programs for Mansoura University students. Moreover, this department participated in the University significant events, such as the 7th Egyptian University Week, which took place in Februray 2005, and the Arab University Week, which was held in Februray 2006.

Critical Care Nursing is a dynamic process, the scope of which is defined in terms of the critically ill patient, the critical care nurse and the environment in which critical care nursing is delivered. The three components are essential elements for clinical practice in critical care settings.
Critical Care Nursing Course introduces students to the critical care nurse's responsibilities in the management of critically ill patients, critical care equipment and machines and the stressful critical care environment. The course has three essential components: classroom teaching, video demonstration in the Electronic lab, and clinical training (in skill lab and intensive care units in hospitals).
