A word of the director of Measurement and assessment unit
Assist.prof. Rasha Hassan Abbas
Director of the Measurement and Assessment Unit
Measurement and Assessment are fundamental elements upon which mechanisms for continuous improvement and development in various academic aspects—both educational and administrative—are based. The process of measurement and evaluation plays a key role in identifying areas of strength and excellence in order to enhance and develop them, as well as recognizing areas of weakness and deficiency to address and improve them.
Measurement and Assessment are active, ongoing, and comprehensive processes. Their importance is reflected in ensuring the quality of the educational process through the application of effective and objective evaluation methods, improving educational outcomes by measuring the extent to which the specific learning objectives of academic programs are achieved, and enhancing student assessment systems and examinations. Additionally, they contribute to the development and modernization of academic programs by providing essential statistical data.
Measurement and Assessment also support decision-making within the college by offering accurate information about the performance of students, faculty members, and academic programs—thus contributing to the academic accreditation of various study programs.
The responsibilities of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty of Nursing include developing and diversifying assessment and evaluation tools, designing and implementing various evaluation programs for students and faculty members, analyzing data derived from measurement and evaluation processes to determine strengths and weaknesses in the educational process, and providing recommendations for improvement based on the analysis results. The Unit also plays a key role in promoting a culture of measurement and evaluation within the faculty.
In recognition of the importance of this field, the college and the university have established the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty of Nursing as part of the university’s broader network of measurement and evaluation units.
The Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty of Nursing aspires to achieve excellence in assessment and evaluation practices by activating its role based on scientific foundations and standards, and by adopting and developing appropriate and effective strategies and mechanisms for measurement and evaluation. These efforts aim to meet the demands of continuous improvement and development, thereby enhancing the standing of the Faculty of Nursing – Mansoura University.
May Allah grant success
